Adopt a Child through our Giving Tree Program
Posted: October 11, 2024
NCM was able to help provide gifts to 277 children last year, in our very rural catchment area. They received gifts of clothing and toys that their families otherwise would not have been able to provide. We cannot thank those who donated enough for the joy you brought to the lives of these children during the holiday season.
Our team is at it again to ensure that we are there to give a Hand of Hope to those who need it most this upcoming holiday season. We cannot do it alone though; we hope that you would consider offering your Hand to provide a joyous holiday season. If you are interested in adopting a child or family, please contact Chris Jones (518-623-2829 ex.305 or by email at chris@ncmfriends.com). Chris will be able to guide you through the process.
Another way to be involved is through being a volunteer shopper! As a volunteer shopper, NCM will gladly reimburse you for the gifts purchased for a child or family you adopt. Please let us know if that is of interest to you.
The hope is to have all replies from those who wish to participate returned by November 10th. This time frame will allow us to know how many children we will be able to provide for this season.
If you would prefer to participate in the Giving Tree program by making a monetary donation, kindly click the link below to donate to our Giving Tree program. We hope to raise an additional $20,000 in donations to cover the cost of the presents that our incredible volunteer shoppers will be securing for the children in our program. So, whether you adopt or donate, you know you are providing holiday cheer.
We could not be any more grateful for all of the support we have received in the past towards the Giving Tree program. The lives that are impacted go beyond the children who receive presents, but to the parents who know that their children are filled with the holiday spirit.
We hope your holiday season is full of love and joy, just as you can provide to those families who are impacted by the Giving Tree Program.
NCM’s 2024 Annual Golf Classic was another North Country Success!
Posted: September 19th, 2024
North Country Ministry’s 16th Annual Golf Classic was a huge success! With the help of our sponsors, golfers, raffle ticket purchasers, and volunteers we collected $29,871.56 in net proceeds!
We were excited to welcome 91 golfers to the course and thankful that we had a few extra join us for the fabulous steak dinner, later in the evening. The weather could not have been better and Cronin’s course was beautiful as always.
Thank you for your continued support. Just the other week in one evening, in one of our two food pantries, we fed 164 individuals. We are seeing an increase in need at our food pantries, and fundraisers like these ensure that we can continue to feed these households that are in need of our services.

Christmas Wishes Do Come True, Because of YOU!
Posted: January 31, 2024
Thanks to the generosity of many, this holiday season brimmed with joy for the 277 children whose Christmas wish lists were fulfilled through our Giving Tree Program. These children were members of 114 local families who experienced a Christmas morning that will be etched in their memories forever. This year marked a record-breaking achievement for the program, and we extend our deepest gratitude to our donors for their invaluable contribution.
The support we received not only facilitated the provision of essential items like warm clothing, but also granted numerous cherished gifts that these children had eagerly anticipated on Christmas morning. The thoughtfulness of our donors ensured a festive and joyous occasion for those families, underscoring an act of compassion that resonated deeply with their parents. Recognizing the universal parental aspiration to create special moments for their children, the outpouring of support of those who understand the challenges faced by these families during the holiday season is truly commendable.
In the spirit of Santa Claus, presence in the lives of these families was marked by anonymity, leaving behind a trail of love, compassion, and joy. The commitment made by our donors in making a difference has transformed the holiday season for these families, embodying the true essence of the festive spirit.
Warrensburg Grand Union Filled a Glass With Hope
Posted: October 19, 2023
In September, patrons shopping at the Warrensburg Grand Union generously contributed $3,205 to support NCM’s Warrensburg Food Pantry. This initiative was part of Grand Unions efforts to raise awareness during Hunger Action Month, aimed at assisting local pantries in stocking dairy products. Milk ranks among the most sought-after items in food pantries, as it delivers crucial nutrients, particularly for children, and serves as a primary source of calcium, potassium, and vitamin D.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of our local community who participated in this campaign. Your support is instrumental in aiding our food pantry, which has witnessed a substantial increase in individuals seeking our services.
NCM’s 15th Annual Golf Classic Tournament was a huge success!

North Country Ministry’s 15th Annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament was a huge success! Thanks to the 45 sponsorships and 82 golfers, our tournament raised a total of $26,940.
As always, Cronin’s put together an incredible array of food and golf for our special day. The weather held out, and we had a perfect fall day of golf. Thank you to the many volunteers who helped with our hole sponsorships.
The funds that are raised at our golf tournament go to support the work of our programs and Emergency Assistance. With the winter season upon us, we are thankful for the support we had as we can in turn help the community with heating, emergency housing, food and other essentials.
We were thrilled to show off our new “Mobile Mart” van! This program will launch in the beginning of October and provide food to those in the most rural areas of our service area. This van will be driven by volunteers to go directly to our clients’ doors to bring them food.

Grand Union Raises $3,187 for Milk at NCM Food Pantries
Posted: October 18, 2022
As a result of a joint effort to raise money through the Fill a Glass with Hope program and stock local food pantries with fresh milk during Hunger Action Month in September, Grand Union and American Dairy Association North East announced a donation of nearly $25,000 to 11 community food pantries throughout the region, thanks to the support of shoppers. North Country Ministry is so thankful to have been chosen as one of the recipients.
Mary Anderson, Assistant Store Manager said, “I am so excited to have the donations go somewhere local.” How much more local can you get then less than a mile up the road from the Warrensburg Grand Union.
North Country Ministry insures that all that visit our food pantries leave with milk, whether it is in form of a gift card or a carton of milk. This donation will support our efforts in continuing to provide nutritious products to the community. As the colder months are upon us this donation of $3,187 will be hugely helpful in offsetting the cost of milk so that we can focus those funds to other necessary items for a household.

LaMancha, Inc supports NCM “Mobile Mart”
Posted: Wednesday, March 2, 2022
North Country Ministry is excited to announce that we have received a very generous grant from the LaMancha, Inc. with a headquarters in Queensbury, NY to fund our Mobile Mart program!
LaMancha, Inc.’s mission is to focus on service projects in Chulucanas, Peru and Cuilapa, Guatemala. Over the last several years, LaMancha, Inc. has been fortunate to have outstanding support. With the inability to travel due to the pandemic, their board had decided to award local service organizations, primarily focused on feeding and caring for people in their communities.
That is where our “Mobile Mart” program comes in!
North Country Ministry was granted this award to purchase and outfit a van that will be used to service geographically and socially hard to reach residents in the southeastern Adirondacks. This program will allow our services that we currently provide to travel to people who are unable to come to us.
We cannot thank LaMancha, Inc. enough for their support and for helping us to get this program off and running.
